From Hong Kong to the Open Road
Hi! We’re Jess & Mike. As teachers living and working in Hong Kong, our trips home to the UK are incredibly precious. For years, we struggled with the rising costs of car hire and hotels, searching for a way to make our family visits more adventurous and affordable. In July 2023, we found the perfect solution: Frida.
Why Frida is "Just Right"
With two young boys, Stanley and Spencer, we knew exactly what we needed. We didn’t want the nightly "furniture Tetris" of rearranging a small camper just to make a bed, and we didn't want a massive motorhome that felt impossible to park at the local shops.
Frida is our "Goldilocks" van. She is compact enough to slide into a standard parking bay (perfect if, like me, you’re a little nervous about parking!), yet she somehow fits two permanent double beds inside. No bed-making required! Even Mike, who is over 6 feet tall, can stretch out fully and wake up refreshed. In fact, we love Frida so much that even when there’s a spare bed in a relative's house, we usually choose to sleep in the van!
A Local Touch: Meet Craig & Kerry
Since we are in Hong Kong during the school terms, we knew Frida needed someone special to look after her. We found the perfect team in Craig and Kerry, who live in Newport, just outside Telford.
The best part? Craig and Kerry actually started as Frida’s customers! They loved her so much that they offered to become her UK custodians. They treat Frida like their own, ensuring she is sparkling clean, mechanically sound, and ready for every new journey.
